The patronal celebrations began with the Divine Liturgy. The Eucharistic assembly was presided over by His Eminence Metropolitan Longin, with the concelebration of the abbot of this holy monastery, Archimandrite Sergije (Puskar), the arch-priest stavrophor Miloš Vesin, as well as numerous clergy and monastics of our Diocese.
The joy of this assembly was multiplied by the ordination of the graduated theologian Miloš Babić to the holy deaconate and the ordination of the pious assistant of the monastery – Marko Glamočak as a reader of the monastery church. A large number of faithful people participated in the prayer. The beauty of the divine services was magnified by the singing of the Metropolitan’s Choir and the singing of students of the Orthodox Theological Faculty of Saint Sava in Libertyville.
At the end of the liturgical assembly, a solemn litija/procession was led around the Church, after which the beautifully decorated slava kolac was cut. Under the open sky, Metropolitan Longin addressed the clergy and faithful with an inspired sermon and at the end wished everyone that the Protection of the Most Holy Theotokos would always be with them. After the Divine Liturgy, the slava luncheon was held in the large monastery hall.
